Save desktop layouts and keep things clean and tidy
Do you find your Windows screen gets untidy? IconRestorer will keep a tidy backup of your icon positions, so you can clean things up in a second.
IconRestorer is almost overloaded with options - you can choose for it to start on startup, and set regular icon backups too (although only if you make a donation to the developer). The attractive interface is intuitive, and features a button to restore the last desktop layout, save the current one and more.
All backups are kept and you can save wallpapers with them. This means you can use IconRestorer as a library of desktop setups too, which is pretty cool. You can uncheck saving wallpapers, and just save your icon layouts if you want. There's also something called "list view", which shuffles your icons into neat columns - another way to auto-tidy things up.
IconRestorer is a neat way to keep your desktop layout backed up, or simply to tidy up disorganized icons.

I'll have to disagree with your claim that Icon Restore doesn't work with Windows 10. I currently have Windows 10 Pro, & I have used IR on Windows 7 Pro, & Win 10 Pro, & it has worked very well!
However, on an apparent Windows update 2 days ago, IR was apparently removed by MS during that update, & I am now going to reinstall it. I also lost 2 other non-MS apps, & I'll have to go back & reinstall them.
As a "long time" MS user, I do fault them for this type of management on my computer & programs. I won't run auto-updates any longer! More

Does not work with Windows 10.
Previous windows versions had no problem with rearranging my icons on the desktop. Since upgrading to Windows 10 the application IconRestorer is recognising it as Windows 6.2 and not saving my profile.
Cons:
Does not work with Windows 10 More
